About John Sarcone

John A. Sarcone III is an award-winning American lawyer. A confident, eloquent, and engaging speaker, Mr. Sarcone delivers keynote addresses for commemoration, immigration, and naturalization ceremonies, ground breakings for multimillion-dollar construction projects, and ribbon cuttings for the openings of new buildings. He also speaks during events for International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, Black History Month and Earth Day.  

Mr. Sarcone took a hiatus from his successful law practice and recently served as the 14th Regional Administrator of the United States General Services Administration’s Northeast and Caribbean Region from 2018 to 2021 as a senior executive in the Trump Administration. He transformed the region into a customer-centric, results-driven organization that saved millions of taxpayer dollars, advanced progress on energy savings initiatives, and improved small business utilization to record numbers.

When the COVID-19 pandemic gripped New York City, Mr. Sarcone directed the region’s rapid response, mobilizing the necessary resources to supply hospitals with personal protective equipment, commencing telework for non-essential personnel, and coordinating to keep federal and US court buildings open and safe for essential personnel.

As a result of his many accomplishments and excellence in customer service, innovation, leadership, mission results, and cost savings, Mr. Sarcone earned the Administrator’s Exceptional Service Award in 2020.

A distinguished attorney for 20+ years, Mr. Sarcone has represented some of the largest companies in the US , JP Morgan Chase and served as General Counsel to one of the largest police and security unions in the country the United Federation of Special Police and Security Officers, Inc. and for legendary NYS labor leader Ralph Purdy as well as representing union officials and members in internal and external disputes.  

Mr. Sarcone’s extensive state and federal litigation and appeals practice provides a unique quality to his representation of clients in business transactions and labor contract negotiation.  His cases have been published in state and federal case books more than 34 times.

Mr. Sarcone is the former Town Attorney for the Town of Eastchester and Attorney for the Town of Cornwall, NY

One of his biggest cases in his legal career was suing Exxon Mobil and Sunoco for groundwater contamination representing private well owners and commercial establishments in the Town of Highlands Orange county that resulted in a greater than $20,000,000.00 settlement that included funds sufficient enough to build a new municipal water system that services today the majority of the Town and its Elementary School.  

Mr. Sarcone currently serves as General Counsel to The Association of Commuter Rail Employees (ACRE) representing more than 7000 NYS MTA workers.

Mr. Sarcone earned his Juris Doctor in international trade and international law and undergraduate degrees from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He is a member of the bar of the US Supreme Court, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, the US District Court (EDNY and SDNY), and the State of New York.  Prior to earning his law degree Mr. Sarcone worked for Metro North Commuter Railroad where he served as the legislative representative for his union, the Transportation Communications International Union or TCU.

A native New Yorker, Mr. Sarcone grew up in the village of Croton-on-Hudson, where he resides with his wife and their three children who attend public school.  He is a member of the Parish Counsel at Holy Name of Mary, co-head usher and an officer in his local chapter of the Knights of Columbus as well as a Little League High School travel baseball coach and girls CYO coach.  Mr. Sarcone served on the Croton Harmon Union Free School District’s school re-entry task force providing keen insight in helping to bring children in the district back to school safely and has served on numerous committees.
